Dear Maria,
I believe there are two things that can make or break your celebration. First is hiring a person who doesn't have a passion for providing quality service as part of their business. Second, is hiring someone who doesn't have a passion for people. So many folks in the DJ/KJ entertainment business are in it for a quick buck and aren't worth the time it takes to contact them.
I recently had the opportunity and pleasure of coordinating my boss and dear friend's retirement party from LexisNexis for his boss. I spoke to over a dozen folks who were in a hurry to quote me a dollar amount and book a date but didn't want to take any time to find out about the event or what I wanted. At least, that's the way it was until I contact Wes Sims.
From my initial inquiry Wes took the time to be interested in want I wanted and needed to accomplish before, during and after the party. It was my desire to honor and celebrate all that Gary meant to us and to the company. We wanted to begin with a cocktail hour, continue into a sit down dinner and have a time after dinner to roast Gary and then share Karaoke fun (which was and is one of Gary's favorite pastime activities). Wes let me know that he had a wide variety of music resources and was helpful with suggestions for music genres to play to help set our atmosphere during cocktail hour and dinner. He designed his music for the evening around what we wanted to have available. He was a tremendous help in keeping our evening events flowing with his tasteful humor and emceeing talents.
He even took the initiative to ask for the name and telephone number so he could follow-up with our location manager to be sure he'd have everything he needed to do the job and be within their time and space requirements. He was there early to be setup and ready well before we arrived. He cleaned up, was and out of the building in plenty of time so as not to encounter additional fees from our party location.
Wes/RiverCity deserves all the credit for the success of the evening. Folks who were two and three levels above my boss attended and have taken the time to personally seek me out after the party to express their appreciation and to share how much they enjoyed the event.
You can't go wrong in selecting RiverCity Entertainment to help you celebrate your wedding.

At our wedding, Wes was a blessing. From the start his expertise in planning what he called, "The Best Party we will ever have" was meant to be a success. He sat down with us months in advance to make sure we were going to be happy with every aspect of our reception. He took great care in listening to our needs and wants. As a result, we did have "the Best Party' of our lives. Thanks so much Wes and RiverCity Entertainment for making a fantastic memory. We will make sure all of our friends call you for their party entertainment needs.

liam a. Yellow Spgs, OH 01/18/2006 Date of Purchase: 12/03/2005. Service Performed: Wedding Reception . Comments: Rivercity did a great job. They were significantly cheaper than their rivals, but this did not seem to affect in any way the quality of service. IN the lead-up to my wedding, they were in constant contact regarding the play-list, and on the day itself, they performed flawlessly. Polite, friendly, and very professional .

Wes, I just got back on the 26th...took a nice long honeymoon. I wanted to thank you for being apart of my special day. Everyone really enjoyed the music....I hope that you were able to eat & drink it seemed like the evening went so fast. Your daughter is beautiful!! Hi Wes, Just an update. After I talked with the kids a week later, I finally got the feedback. I was really never down stairs to listen, but I told the girls if they needed any adults, to come right up stairs to get us.
Many of the (kids) at the party said the girls were really good. My husband ventured downstairs a few times, and said that the dance floor was packed!!! It took a while for the crowd to loosen up, so Megan played to a small crowd at first. By the end of the night, I was asked by some to let them play longer!
So, thanks again, and send Megan and her friend a Congratulations on the great job they did!

We had to make some last minute changes to our plans for our 15 year reunion due to lack of attendance. Wes was very accommodating to these requests. Since we weren't really going to have enough people for dancing on a dance floor, he provided music during our meal and afterwards, we all participated in a class trivia game. He did an excellent job in researching our school and pop culture from the years we attended high school. I think it was a good alternative to what we were originally planning. I would recommend this company to anyone looking for a DJ or just planning a party and want some trivia to have fun with!! Thanks Wes.

Wes did a great job of getting and keeping people on the dance floor. Our event was a relatively small corporate party (40 people) and he did a great job emcee'ing and keeping everyone engaged.

If you want a DJ that will become part of the party instead of simply turning discs, call Wes Sims. Miller-Valentine Group has asked Wes to be our DJ for our last two Associates’ Day Picnics. Weeks before each event, he initiated communication regarding the playlists. Our picnics are large, themed events; with all of the planning going on, the last thing we wanted to do was think about what music to play and when. Instead of sending Wes playlists, we sent him the agendas and trusted he would be creative. We had time set aside for arrival, eating, games and awards; Wes anticipated and played perfect songs for everything. Wes becomes part of the party and knows when to speak up and when to step down. He genuinely cares and wants everyone to enjoy themselves. He is NOT a DJ, he is an Entertainer!
